Monthly Meeting – Jan. 4, 2018: “How Our FHC Can Help You”, by Shelley McFadden

The first meeting of the year always includes voting for the Board of Directors for the current year. If you are interested in volunteering for an open position, speak up before the meeting so we can get you on the slate! When voting is complete, Shelley will then take the floor and proceed with the program.

The Family History Center (FHC) is a branch of FamilySearch, and the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. These FHCs are located all over the world, 4,700 FHCs in 134 Countries. Their goal is to provide resources to assist you in the research and study of your genealogy and family history. They do this by: 1) Giving personal one-on-one assistance. 2) Providing access to genealogical records through the Internet, and/or with their local library. They are open to anyone with an interest in genealogical research.

Come find out how our FHC can help you do your research.

Shelley has been doing genealogy research for over 35 years. She is the 1st Vice President, and Program Chair for Monterey County Genealogy Society. She is also a regular speaker at the Ancestor Round-up Conference.

Doors open at 6:15 pm, the meeting starts at 7:00 pm. We’ll see you at the Family History Center, 1024 Noche Buena, Seaside, CA., left rear of building.
