Note the date for this January meeting! Normally we meet the first Thursday of the month. But this year, the first Thursday is New Year’s Day holiday, so we are moving the meeting to January 8th.
This meeting will include our annual “business meeting” where we review details of the proceeding year (2014) and elect Board Members for the new year (2015).
Shelly McFadden will then have a short discussion on How To Discover Your World War I Veteran Ancestors. With the 100th anniversary of U.S. involvement in WWI only a few years away from now, a primer on how to track the “Doughboy” in your family is most timely.
The FHC will hold an “Open House” thanking the many volunteers who work in the FHC. Desert and juice will be provided. You can meet the volunteers who help make the FHC a special place and assist you in doing your own family history research. People will be available to show newcomers the facility. Bring your questions and get started researching your own family in the New Year.
Doors open at 6:15 pm, the meeting starts at 7:00 pm. We’ll see you at the Family History Center, 1024 Noche Buena, Seaside, CA., left rear of building.
